Mary Beth Hebert has an extensive background in family law spanning over 30 years. She graduated with Honors from Agnes Scott College in 1981 with a B.A. in Psychology, and earned her J.D. in 1986 from Emory University School of Law. With the exception of a three year judicial clerkship, she has served as family law practitioner since 1986. Mary Beth’s professional training has included hundreds of hours of continuing legal education in the area of family law. She was in the first Collaborative Law training in Georgia in 1999, and since that time has had significant additional training in the area of Collaborative Divorce.
Mary Beth is a trained mediator and frequently lectures in the area of Family Law, speaking to numerous organizations and at many seminars. She is a former Chair of the Atlanta Bar Association Family Law Section, a Master in the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inn of Court, and a founding member of the Atlanta Collaborative Divorce Alliance (ACDA). Mary Beth is the former Chair of the State Bar of Georgia Uniform Superior Court Rules Committee and a former Adviser to the State Bar of Georgia Judicial Procedure & Administration Committee. She is proud to have served on both the Futon County Family Division Rules Committee and the Fulton County Guardian ad Litem Rules Committee since their inception. Mary Beth has been honored with an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest available rating, and she has been named to the 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 Georgia Super Lawyers.
