David Alexander, LPC has a Master's Degree in Counseling from Georgia State University. He has a private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in children, individual and parenting concerns. He has been actively practicing in the Atlanta area since 1984.
David spent his early career working with the Georgia Mental Health Institute as an inpatient treatment coordinator, advocate and therapist for children and their families. Areas of specialties include ADHD, anxiety, autism spectrum disorders, depression, developmental delays, learning differences, mood disorders, mourning/grieving, OCD, pervasive developmental disorders, post-traumatic stress, and family transitions. David has taken an active role in developing and providing specialized counseling resources and training for; domestic law professionals, mental health providers, parents, religious organizations, and for teachers.
David has closed the office playroom he operated through 2020 and now practices via tele-mental health while still including walking and off-site sessions as needed.
David continues to offer lectures and workshops both locally and nationally. He is the president and director of services for Atlanta Developmental Consultants, Inc. He has been on multiple boards and committees working to promote mental health awareness, including the Collaborative Law Institute of Georgia and the Center for Navigating Family Changes. He is one of the founding members of the Atlanta Collaborative Divorce Alliance. David lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and has three adult children.
